Okay, let's talk about the pressure we put on ourselves as moms to nurse. For some moms, nursing is grounding and connecting. But for other moms, the pressure to keep going in spite of pain, sleep deprivation, of spiraling anxiety, is what pushes them towards postpartum anxiety, postpartum depression, and burnout. And I'm not saying the choice is easy, because it's not. It's really hard to decide whether your nursing journey is worth continuing for or worth stopping. That's a personal choice that you have to make. But having mixed feelings about something doesn't mean that you're making the wrong choice. Feeling guilt about stopping nursing doesn't mean that you should keep going. It means that you probably care about your baby. You are allowed to choose your mental health, your overall wellness. That choice is still being a good mom.
